Tempe Brown is a native of Oklahoma with a background that is wide and varied. She was the art director for Century Publishing Company in her hometown of Oklahoma City and later became editor of Key to Oklahoma City This Week magazine for five years.  She interviewed visiting dignitaries as well as famous entertainers who performed in her city, wrote a weekly column and critiqued the fine local restaurants.

At the same time, she sang jazz and blues in some of the most exclusive supper clubs in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. She later formed a show band and traveled extensively throughout the United States and appeared in Mexico and Canada.

Upon accepting Christ as her Savior after reading Gideon Bibles in the hotel rooms where she stayed, she left the music business in the summer of 1977 to begin a life of full-time Christian service.

She travels year-round speaking and singing for various organizations, including Stonecroft Ministries, Women Aglow, Business and Professional Women’s Association, and the Gideon’s International. Tempe teaches Bible studies, leads ladies retreats and speaks in conventions, conferences and churches all over the nation. She is currently the Stonecroft Regional Speaker Trainer (RST) for both North and South Carolina, which entails training men and women how to share their testimonies with a clear gospel presentation.

Tempe has written an enhanced historical novel entitled, The Seed, a children’s book called, The Little Dirt People (What it Means to be Born Again), a suspense thriller called The Payback Game, and its sequel, The Perfect Victim. Tempe has recorded a CD of songs she wrote entitled, “Pieces,” a CD of her favorite hymns called Vintage Hymns, and a new one of some of the great old standards called Heavenly Jazz. She is also a portrait artist and watercolorist. She is the mother of three, the grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother nine.
